How failure and recovery notifications are sent.
Notification lifecycle
Canaries sends one failure alert, then one recovery alert when the job checks in again.
- Healthy: pings arrive inside the survival interval.
- Overdue: a scheduled check finds the canary silent for too long.
- Failure alert: Telegram is tried first, then verified email is used as fallback.
- Recovered: the next successful ping sends a recovery notification.
A canary is marked notified only after delivery succeeds or after Canaries determines that no notification method is available.
